There are more than 250 CBD brands in the US, most of which sell CBD bath bombs, among many other products. Thus, choosing the best brand from which to buy your CBD bath bomb can be challenging. This article helps make your search easy by sharing a list of the best 25 CBD bath bomb brands you could go for.

CBD bath bombs are among the popular bath products we use today. Although they are relatively new in the market, CBD as a compound and bath bombs as body products have been there for the longest time. The infusion of CBD into bath bombs helps produce CBD bath bombs formulated to help a person relax and improve skin conditions, among many other benefits. Although studies are mixed about whether CBD can make one relax, CBD bath bombs also feature essential oils that augment relaxation. It does not come as a surprise that many CBD bath bomb users find a bath with a CBD bath bomb quite relaxing.

In fact, after you have had a long day, going into the bathtub with a CBD bath bomb and relaxing there for about 20 minutes allows you to meditate, boosting your mental health. Three formulations of CBD are usually featured in the bath bombs, resulting in the three types of CBD bath bombs; isolate-based, full- and broad-spectrum formulated options.

Other than essential oils and CBD in the CBD bath bombs, fragrances and color transformations add to the bathtub experience. How long should one take in the bathtub with CBD bath bombs? How much CBD should you have per bomb? Can you divide your bath bomb and use it for more than one bath session? These are a few of the commonly asked questions about CBD bath bombs. This article shares a list of the best 25 CBD bath bomb brands and also answers these questions. First, check out what CBD is.

You May Feel Relaxed

INTRODUCTION TO CBD

CBD is one of the compounds that have spun massive popularity and is now shaking industries. In fact, it seems as though there is no single industry that does not find it useful. Consequently, one needs to understand it well. According to Massi et al. (2006) and Bauer et al. (2020), CBD is a non-psychoactive chemical compound in hemp. Hemp is one of the cannabis plants that boast chemical compounds called cannabinoids.

There are more than 100 cannabinoids in nature with unique properties. CBD, for instance, is non-psychoactive; hence many find it relatable. THC is yet another cannabinoid of great scientific interest. However, Schlienz et al. (2018) stated that it is psychoactive and can cause a high effect, so many avoid it.

Other than the non-psychoactive nature, people love CBD for yet another reason. According to Watt & Karl (2017), CBD is therapeutic. People believe in CBD therapy and use the cannabinoid for pain, sleep, anxiety, and more, although there are yet not enough studies to prove that CBD can help with any of these.

WHAT IS CBD BATH BOMB?

Before at the best 25 CBD bath bombs in 2022, you need to know what a CBD bath bomb is. Simply put, it is a bath product comprising a regular bath bomb with CBD infused in it. Of course, CBD bath bombs have essential oils, citric acid, cornstarch, baking soda, and salts that make up any regular bath bombs.

Still, many believe that they have additional benefits, courtesy of CBD. For instance, García-Gutiérrez et al. (2020) reported that CBD can help fight anxiety, stress, and depression. Besides, according to Silote et al. (2019), CBD is better than conventional antidepressants.

Although studies are yet to reveal to what extent these claims can be true, people look up to CBD bath bombs for these very benefits. Some enjoy soaking in CBD bath bombs since this gives them a great opportunity to meditate and boost their mental health.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD BATH BOMBS?

So far, studies see great potential in CBD products, including CBD bath bombs. Admittedly, CBD studies are limited, and these claims are yet to be confirmed. Here are some benefits that you can look forward to while soaking in bath water with CBD bath bombs;

  • You May Feel Relaxed

Anecdotal evidence and product feedbacks show that people experience relaxation from CBD bath bombs. So far, the FDA has not approved using CBD to enhance relaxation. Besides, there is just not enough scientific evidence to tap into and claim confidently that CBD can make you relaxed. However, existing studies show that the individual compounds in CBD bath bombs may lead to relaxation.

For instance, Shannon et al. (2019) stated that CBD interacts with 5- HI TA receptors to fight pain, anxiety, and sleep issues, suggesting that the cannabinoid can be relaxing. Besides, Verallo-Rowell et al. (2016) show that essential oils are therapeutic. Since CBD bath bombs feature essential oils as critical ingredients, it makes sense that many find them relaxing.

  • Improved Skin Condition

If you are contemplating using CBD bath bombs soon, you can look forward to improved skin conditions. Remember, CBD bath bombs have essential oils and CBD oil as core ingredients, yet studies find these great for the skin. For instance, according to Hammell et al. (2016), CBD helps with inflammation. The skin often suffers inflammation since it is linked to most dermatological products. The American Academy of Dermatology (Feb 2018) reported that people were experiencing better skin conditions with CBD topicals. Although CBD bath bombs are not necessarily topical, they have CBD, the critical ingredient in the quoted report.

  • Better Mental Health

Although there is no stipulated time you need to spend in the water with a CBD bath bomb, people soak in such for about 20 minutes. Of course, too much of something might be dangerous, and you don’t want to suffer the negative consequences of overstaying in water. However, soaking in a CBD bath bomb may be helpful considering the therapeutic effects linked to the products’ key ingredients. Besides, spending time to meditate is definitely healthy for you since it is one way to manage the day’s stresses.

  • Improved Quality of Life

There is much said about CBD; sometimes, separating the chaff from the wheat is hard. Still, people find CBD bath bombs great, which is why you do not expect them to soon become less popular. According to McCoy et al. (2018), cannabinoids like CBD and THC can improve quality of life. Besides, Piomelli & Russo (2016) stated that CBD could be uplifting. Soaking in bath water with a CBD bath bomb may help you take advantage of these benefits, ultimately boosting your life quality.

HOW DOES A CBD BATH BOMB WORK?

Before spending your hard-earned cash on CBD bath bombs, you must understand how these bath products work. Even before then, remember that cornstarch, citric acid, and baking soda are critical ingredients that do not miss out on any CBD bath bomb. They are the very elements responsible for the bomb’s operation.

A CBD bath bomb has colors and fragrance, and the transformations are pleasant, to say the least. However, the fizzing action is the climax of the bath experience, without which many do not enjoy using the bath bombs. In fact, a CBD bath bomb does not stink or develop mold when it expires, but the fizzing action stops.

The reaction between baking soda and citric acid is a neutralization process, producing gases that result in the fizzing action. However, you cannot enjoy the fizzing action when it is fast and short-lived; this is where cornstarch comes in handy. It acts as a buffer, standing between baking soda and citric acid, slowing down the reaction. Like baking soda, cornstarch, and citric acid cause fizzing and buffering, the essential oils and CBD are released into the water. Soaking in the water allows your body to benefit from CBD, as explained in the next section.

HOW DOES THE CBD IN THE CBD BATH BOMBS AND SOAPS WORK?

A CBD bath bomb is not complete without CBD, and its benefits are linked to CBD. How does CBD work? Studies have not certainly established how CBD works. So far, the basic explanation relies on the interaction of the cannabinoid and receptors.

According to Mechoulam & Parker (2013), the body has a network called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), made up of endocannabinoids, endocannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2 receptors), and enzymes that catalyze cannabinoid production. According to Zou & Kumar (2018), critical body processes like reproduction, mood changes, pain regulation, and digestion depend on the ECS. The enzymes fuel endocannabinoid production and the endocannabinoids bind to the receptors to keep processes in equilibrium.

Explaining how the ECS works, Eskander et al. (2020) stated that imbalances in the body result in endocannabinoid damage, which causes further imbalance, and this is where external cannabinoids come in. For instance, Mechoulam & Parker (2013) stated that THC binds to the CB1 and CBD receptors to offset imbalances. Although it is not yet clear how CBD interacts with the ECS, researchers believe its interaction has positive effects.

CBD SOAPS

CBD soaps are more like CBD bath bombs, only that the individual ingredients for the two categories may not be the same. Of course, they have CBD as primary ingredients since they are CBD products. Besides, CBD soaps may have essential oils since, according to Djilani et al. (2012), the oils are therapeutic. Some soaps may also have baking soda, which is also in CBD bath bombs. Nonetheless, CBD bath soaps and bombs are all bath products. However, how the two are used matters.

Before spending your hard-earned cash on CBD bath bombs, you must understand how these bath products work.

HOW DO YOU USE CBD BATH BOMBS AND SOAPS?

Are you buying CBD bath bombs or soap soon? You need to know how to use them. CBD bath soaps are simple to use; you only follow the same procedure as you do for any soap, i.e.,

  1. Wet your body with cold or warm water
  2. Apply the CBD soap on a soft piece of clothing with which you are scrubbing your body
  3. Gently scrub your body with the clothe

You can also wet the body, apply CBD soap to it, and scrub or massage the body with the soft clothe you use for bathing.

CBD bath bombs follow a slightly different process. To benefit from the cannabinoid and essential oils in the bath bombs, proceed as follows;

  1. Fill the bathtub with warm water (cold water will not hype the reaction)
  2. Put the CBD bath bomb in it
  3. Allow the CBD bath bomb about 5- 8 minutes for full dissolution
  4. Climb into the bath bomb
  5. Soak in the water for about 20 minutes

Frequently Asked Questions about CBD Bath Bombs and Soaps

People have many questions about CBD bath bombs and soaps. This is normal since many CBD products exist, and choosing which one to use can be challenging. In this section, we answer most of these questions in the best way possible;

If you are new to CBD or have been using the cannabinoid for some time, you may want to know if it is effective. After all, you don’t want to waste hard-earned cash down the drain, and you want every penny to count. According to the American Academy of Dermatology (Feb. 2018) report, people are finding a remedy in CBD products. Although the report did not narrow it down to CBD bath bombs, it is one of the items with CBD as a critical ingredient. Like CBD bath bombs, CBD soaps have essential oils, and many relate to their benefits.

Soaking in the CBD bomb is certainly fun. The whole experience of meditation in the pool and having some quiet moments helps you work on mental health. Besides, the color transformations and the fragrance in the bath bombs are great; without knowing it, you will have spent a lot of time in the bathtub. Still, many soak in the CBD bathtub for about 20 minutes or less. You don’t want to spend too long in the bathwater, especially if you are allergic to the individual ingredients in the bathtub.

There are three formulations of CBD in CBD bath bombs and soaps. You can have isolate-based, full- or broad-spectrum CBD soaps and bath bombs. Generally, no one formulation is better than the rest. Thus, your choice depends on your preferences. VanDolah et al. (2019) stated that the multiple compounds in hemp give full-spectrum CBD a full entourage effect resulting from the synergy of the many compounds. Still, this does not mean that isolate and broad-spectrum CBD bath bombs and soaps are less superior.

Like any product, CBD bath bombs have a shelf life and can expire. The shelf life of CBD bath bombs is about 6 months since this is the time it takes one of the ingredients to expire. However, CBD bath bombs will not stink or develop molds as a sign that they have expired. Rather, the bomb loses its potency and effectiveness, confirmed by the lack of fizzing action when you drop it in water.

Remember, the citric acid and baking soda in CBD bath bombs can react without water, only that the reaction is quite slow, and the fizzing action goes unnoticed. The longer you keep the bath bomb exposed to the air, the more it reacts so that by the time you place it in warm water, there might not be any fizzing action. Do you want to bath with a CBD bath bomb that does not fizz?

Sadly, your bath bomb will react with the air with or without water, and the soap will always dry. Thus, the only way to get the most out of them is to use them as soon as you buy them. If possible, do not let them go beyond one month. While you can save a lot of cash by buying CBD products in bulk, take care to enjoy them while still of the best quality.

One question many have always asked us is how much CBD one should have in the CBD bath products like CBD bath bombs and soaps. Sadly, the FDA does not regulate CBD production nor recommend the dosages in which the cannabinoid should be used. Therefore, as you go shopping for CBD bath bombs and soaps, you have to figure out how much CBD you need in them. As a rule of thumb, you should keep the CBD amounts in any products low when you are new to the cannabinoid. As time goes by and as you keep using the cannabinoid, you may be able to up the potency.

Since CBD products are expensive, you may want to use your CBD bath bombs and soaps more than once. In fact, some brands featured in this article offer CBD bath bombs that can be split into several parts and used more than once. While this is possible and up to you, it is not the most efficient way to use the bath bomb. Remember, individual products in the bath bombs are responsible for the benefits linked to the bath products.

Dipping the bath bomb in the water and removing it before it fully dissolves means that some ingredients may be used up in the first round, making other bath sessions less effective. Meanwhile, if you can divide the bath bomb into equal parts before initial use, that is ok. However, it is tricky to split the bath bomb, which may crackle in your hand and waste. CBD bath soaps can be used repeatedly until they are all used up, just like any other soap.

Will your beautiful while bathtub get stained with CBD bath bomb? As a compound, CBD should not stain the bathtub. However, CBD bath bombs have many ingredients other than CBD. For instance, they have butter, coloring agents, flare-ups, and essential oils. Warm water easily lets them out of the bath bomb, but when the water cools, they become a nuisance. Still, cleaning the bathtub after using CBD bath bombs helps remove the sticking ingredients.

You can use warm or cold water with CBD bath bombs, but we highly recommend water warm. It catalyzes the fizzing action, allowing the soap to dissolve fast. Unless you want the bath bomb to dissolve after 30 minutes, you will not use cold water.
